What is the Talent Marketplace?

The Talent Marketplace is a first-of-its kind marketplace that connects top independent talent with exciting opportunities. It is a place where independent talent can network directly with the decision makers from companies of all sizes.

What is our biggest advantage?

iRecruit has been in business since 1996 and have earned a reputation as one of the best resources for recruiters. With more than 4000 recruiters and search firms in our network, we have a wide reach in every industry and location.

Recognized in Wall Street Journal and other major publications, we are also the most recommended resource for students and alumni of many prestigious institutions, including Yale, Columbia, Penn State, Harvard, Emory, Tufts, NMU and hundreds of others.

Because of our reputation and recognition, we enjoy very high rankings in search engines. Often, out competing many of the largest search firms. For example, we rank very high for recruiting related keywords, like; board recruiters, cio recruiters, cto recruiters, venture capital recruiters, consulting recruiters, hedge fund recruiters & many more. The keywords we rank for are not limited to industry or job titles only. We also rank very high for location keywords like; recruiters in California, Silicon Valley recruiters, Texas recruiters, Florida recruiters & many more. We invite you to use Google and try your own variations of industries, job titles and locations for recruiting related keywords including; recruiters, search firms, headhunters, etc.

We receive more than 20,000 new visitors every day from Google alone and many of these are hiring managers and employers who are looking for recruiters to fill an open role. Since 1996, we have helped facilitate millions of connections between recruiters, hiring managers and job seekers. This high visibility we enjoy is our biggest advantage and allows us direct access to exclusive opportunities like board and CxO roles which are often not advertised in public.

How do I join?

Create an account by registering via email and providing some basic information.
In order to understand your needs, we will ask questions about your expertise (e.g. industry, function) and preferences (e.g. salary, hourly rate, location). Afterwards, you can upload your resume and your account manager will complete your account setup and create a basic profile based on your resume.

Please note that we carefully review each application and only admit candidates who fit our criteria.

Are there any restrictions on outside contract work or employment while I am either a member of the Talent Marketplace or working on a project through Talent Marketplace?

iRecruit does not limit the contract work or employment that a member of the community may pursue, although typical post-employment obligations surrounding confidentiality may apply. You are also welcome to pursue other professional opportunities while working on a Talent Marketplace project as long as the timing does not conflict.

What is the time commitment for these roles?

Each Talent Marketplace role is project-based and has its own requirements. The role description will indicate the start date, end date and hours expected per week for each role.

Is there any guarantee of being invited or selected for roles within the Talent Marketplace?

There is no guarantee that you will be selected for work by our client Organizations. However, the Talent Marketplace is an active, frequently updated marketplace designed for independent talent to find new projects, so we encourage you to complete your profile. This will allow us to match you with available projects and proactively send you roles in your areas of interest.

Can I delete my account after setting it up?

You may delete your account by going to your Account settings. Please note, you will not be able to delete your account if you are currently engaged with a role on the marketplace (i.e., you have a screening scheduled or invite pending, you have been offered or are on-boarding for a role, you are currently on project or you are in the process of off-boarding from a role).

Alternatively, you can update your availability under Account Settings. Changing your availability is recommended when you are otherwise engaged and know that you will not be able to accept offers for new roles.

One additional option is to deactivate your profile. By doing so, your profile will not appear when hiring managers and recruiters conduct searches. You can re-activate your profile anytime within your account settings.

How do I find opportunities? Will I be able to see client information related to the role I am being considered for?

iRecruit highly values the confidentiality of our clients and their information.

As soon as your account and profile setup is completed by us, our client companies will be able to search for your profile and invite you to their projects. Client name, contact information and details of the project are only revealed to marketplace consultants who are invited to apply for the role.

You will be notified through email if an Organization invited you to apply for a project. If you are invited, you will be able to see the name of the organization, contact information and information about the project in your dashboard. If you are not interested, you can decline the invitation in your user dashboard. If you are interested in learning more or moving forward, you can contact the Organization directly using the contact information provided in the project posting and begin the interview or negotiation process.

In the future, we may allow our marketplace consultants to search and apply for projects directly.

I am looking for a new job. Can I find full-time opportunities with i-Recruit?

Yes, absolutely.

Talent Marketplace was created in response to interest by our client companies and their hiring managers to find qualified professionals for corporate board, fixed term contract roles, consulting and advisory roles but many employers and recruiters also use our platform to source talent for their full-time role.

If you are selected for a project that you like, we encourage you to build a long lasting relationship with the organization and to actively seek to expand your role to gain additional work.

If you are in the market for a new job. We encourage you to make your profile visible to all Recruiters. If you choose this option, your profile will be searchable by all verified recruiters including corporate recruiters, retained recruiters, contingency recruiters, headhunters and search firms. If you choose this option, thousands of registered recruiters will be able to search for your profile and invite you to their jobs and projects.

How do I apply for a role? How do pricing and payments work?

Unlike freelancing platforms, we allow both parties unrestricted access to each other and require both parties to negotiate all terms directly with each other.

You will be notified through email if an Organization invited you to apply for a project. If you are invited, you will be able to see the name of the organization, contact information and information about the project in your dashboard. If you are not interested, you can decline the invitation. If you are interested in learning more or moving forward, you can contact the Organization directly using the contact information provided in the project posting and begin the interview or negotiation process.

We will help our client Organizations gather all the requirements and draft a consulting agreement which covers all the key terms. Due to conflict of interest, we cannot offer you any advice. We encourage you to review the proposed agreement carefully and seek professional advice before executing.

The pricing or budget referenced in the project intro posting is indicative. We require both parties to execute a consulting agreement. You should finalize key terms with the Organization, including payment method, pay rate, payment scheduling, and project scope before commencing any work.

What happens in the event of a dispute over work product or pay?

In these rare cases, iRecruit will attempt to assist in resolving the dispute. Both parties should send the executed consulting agreement, all written communications, work product, and a brief description of the issue to disputes@i-recruit.com and we will do our best to help resolve the conflict.

When an Organization posts a project on iRecruit, the hourly rate, duration, and hours per week are all non-binding estimates of the project scope. These terms are subject to change at any point during the interview process. If both parties mutually agree upon a different hourly rate than what was posted, the Organization has the ability to change and finalize the rate.

Final rate, terms and scope of work should be outlined in a signed consulting agreement between the Organization and consultant.

Is my iRecruit profile publicly accessible?

We take your privacy very seriously. Your profile and contact information is NOT public. By default your profile is only accessible by verified companies and their hiring managers. After your account and profile setup is complete you have the option to make your profile visible to different types of recruiters, including corporate recruiters, retained recruiters, contingency recruiters, headhunters and search firms. Depending on the options you select, thousands of registered recruiters will be able to search for your profile and invite you to their jobs and projects. If you do not include third party recruiters, only the verified hiring managers and corporate recruiters of registered companies will have access to your profile, but no third party or independent recruiter will see your profile. We recommend sharing your profile with as many recruiters as possible if you are interested in exploring new job opportunities and full-time roles. If you are only interested in board roles, consulting & advisory or contract roles, you can keep this option turned off for additional privacy.

In the future, we plan to add an option to make your profile visible to members of our Talent Marketplace to maximize opportunities for networking. This option will never be turned on by default and you will always have full control of your privacy settings.

Further, per our Terms of Use, Organizations and Users that get access to your profile are obligated to keep your personal information confidential.

What information must I include in my profile to participate in the Marketplace?

For you to be visible to engagement team of organizations, you must have a few key pieces of information in your profile: a) verified email address; b) availability and hourly rate; c) at least three skills; and d) one complete work experience (which includes the company name, your position name, the start month/year and end month/year or “present” box checked).

Furthermore, to have the full visibility, intro section of your profile must also be completed.

Once your account is approved and setup, the account manager assigned to you will complete all the required sections of your profile using the information provided in your resume. You always have the option to make changes and edit your profile anytime.

For better visibility and to increase your chance of being invited to a project, we strongly encourage you to consider adding a profile photo and to always keep your profile up-to-date.

The more information you provide in your profile the better we will be able to align you with roles that fit your needs.

Is it mandatory to upload a profile photo?

While profile photo is not mandatory, you should be aware that a profile photo will significantly increase your visibility.

How is my profile found and evaluated by hiring managers?

Hiring managers of verified organizations and verified corporate recruiters are able to search all talent to find a match for a role. Typically, most critical factors for search and consideration are your availability, skills, background and work experience. These are also the kinds of information that most heavily influence your “Compatibility Score”. If these fundamental aspects are met, other aspects of your profile, such as location, certifications and languages are considered next.

Overall, as long as your profile is accurate and comprehensive enough to provide a clear understanding of your skills and experience, hiring managers will have the information they need to match you with their roles. Please note: your preferences may also be important to employers and recruiters when considering individuals for their roles.
