Ms. Cynthia “Cindy” Brown is the CEO of Pratt, Brown & Associates, LLC, an Information Technology Staffing and Solutions company. She has over 3 decades of staff augmentation experience with 20 years within the Information Technology sector.
She is the founder and a member of the Board of Directors of the Tampa Bay Technology Leadership Association, www.tbtla.org. TBTLA is an organization for Technology leaders dedicated to addressing the needs of the IT industry through executive-level discussion groups, networking events, educational programs that mentor students in the local Tampa Bay area, and a continued understanding of industry best practices, trends and tools.
Through TBTLA’s mentoring division, GETSMART (Getting Everyone to Study Math and related Technologies) was developed. Cindy sits on the Board of Directors for this exciting initiative to motivate girls and boys to pursue STEM, (math, science, engineering and related technologies) in school. Additional efforts promoting Girls in Education are reflected by a 2010 speaking engagement for the Girl Friends of Pinellas organization.
Cindy sits on the University of Tampa’s IT Advisory Board and the St. Petersburg College IT Advisory Board.
Additionally, Cindy is a member of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and a former member of the Board of Directors for the FL Women’s Business Development Council for over 2 years. In her role as board member she represented the certified WBENC woman owned businesses in Central FL. Cindy continues to support the certified women in the greater Tampa Bay area as a continued member of WBDC/WBENC.
Cindy is a board member of the Career Education Board for the Pinellas Education Foundation. She was the IT Advisory Chair for the Pinellas Education Foundation Center of Excellence Program and is an advisor to Career Source of Pinellas and Hillsborough.
Cindy was the Chairman of the Board for the Tampa Bay WorkNet/Workforce Alliance IT Apprenticeship program. She successfully spearheaded this program by building a Board of Directors who created the program and got the program approved by the State of FL. This is the first IT Apprenticeship program in the State of FL.
Cindy was the Technology Chairman of the Board of the Pinellas Education Foundation Savings for Classrooms Technology program, overseeing the technology spending of Pinellas County Schools. In addition, Cindy was also the Business Partner assigned to Countryside High School with the goal of developing and growing the IT security curriculum and program; and to Clearwater High School, assisting in a program to provide Kindles to every student.
Cindy was a part of the Pinellas County School Systems DDM program (decentralized-decision making), which was a program of the Envision 2014 five year strategic plan. Cindy was assigned to the Principle of Clearwater High School for mentoring. The intent of this program was to teach the principle how to help schools learn and implement best practices from businesses.
Cindy is also a Board Member of Amazing Transformations Ministry, which provides individual and group counseling, and is also actively involved in many community-based support and outreach initiatives.
Cindy sat on the Marketing Committee for New Life Solutions/the Pinellas Pregnancy Center assisting them with marketing strategies and ideas. Additionally, Cindy was actively involved with Supporting America’s Finest, an organization that held Military Appreciation Concerts each year.
